Our Baby and Little Flippers classes are intended to be a fun and safe way to introduce a child and their trusted grown-up to the water together!
Baby Flippers classes are for our younger students, ages 6mos to 24mos depending on maturity and confidence. Little Flippers are for our slightly older students who aren’t quite ready for a private lesson with a new grown-up all on their own just yet, 24mos to 36mos. Both classes cover similar topics of water acclimation, water safety for caregivers and kids, and are designed to build a positive relationship between the student and the water.
All of these skills are intended to be completed with assistance, meaning the grown-up is learning to help the child do the skill as much as the child is learning about the skill!
- Calm/comfortable in water
- Splash (hands, feet)
- Kick (any leg movement associated with moving through the water)
- Arm reaches (to a toy, person, or wall)
- Bubbles
- Monkey (hold onto wall, travel alongside)
- Climb out
- Safely enter the pool
- Back float
- Underwater dip
- Underwater pass
- Safety Roll

FAQ
How can I contact you?
For any questions, please send an email to oconeeflippers@gmail.com or contact us through the JackRabbit parent portal.
Do you offer make-up classes?
If your child is sick we do offer makeup classes. If your child will miss class, please submit an absence through the JackRabbit parent portal.
What should we bring to class?
Bring a towel and a pair of goggles for your child.
Can my swimmer wear goggles?
For kids ages 2 and above we recommend they bring goggles to class! We also have children practice swimming without goggles so they do not become too reliant.
Can I request a specific instructor?
With our online scheduling system, you can request an instructor based on availability.
Can I watch the swim lesson?
We have plenty of chairs for parents to watch the class! For some younger children, we recommend the parents leave the room so the children are not distracted.
Can we come early or stay late after lessons to practice?
If you would like to come to the pool and practice we recommend getting a pool membership. Information on pool memberships can be found at https://www.oconeeaquatics.com/memberships
What happens if weather causes classes to be canceled?
If classes are to be canceled, customers will receive an email with options to either receive a lesson credit or schedule a makeup class. We have 2 indoor pools so outdoor classes will be moved inside in case of rain.
How long will it take for my swimmer to learn?
Our lessons are for fast-progression learning. If your child is comfortable putting their face in the water they can learn to swim in just a few sessions! If your child is more fearful of putting their eyes in this will take extra practice and encouragement!
