Swim Instructor

Part-Time, Full-Time, or Seasonal

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction & Safety: Deliver engaging lessons for all abilities while maintaining a safe environment and responding to emergencies appropriately.
• Student Progress: Conduct skill evaluations, track daily attendance, and perform new student assessments via our Staff Portal.
• Communication: Provide brief, positive feedback to parents after lessons and collaborate with the Admin Team regarding student promotions or concerns.
• Professionalism: Maintain a positive atmosphere in and around the pool, attend mandatory in-service training, and ensure a clean, professional environment for staff and clients.

Schedule & Availability

• School Year: Min. 1–2 set days/week (6–10 hrs).
• Peak Season (May–Aug): Min. 2+ set days/week (10–20+ hrs). Full-time options available during peak season.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification in First Aid/CPR/AED (Red Cross, AHA, or DAN).
• Red Cross Basic Water Safety & Safety Training for Swim Coaches (or willingness & ability to obtain).
• Strong swimming ability and the physical stamina to demonstrate skills in-water.
• High energy, enthusiasm, and a natural ability to engage with children.

Preferred:

• WSI (Water Safety Instructor) and/or Lifeguard certification.
• Experience in competitive swimming, water polo, or coaching.
• Background in childcare or customer service.

Compensation

• Paid training averages roughly 30-40 hours.
• Pay rate upon completion of training ranges from $12-$17.50/hr commensurate with experience and performance during training.
• Ample opportunity for advancement (learning additional skills and taking on additional responsibilities).
